 Tigger

Well I took Tigger to the vet yesterday and they checked him over and it's kind of a puzzle. They're not real sure what is wrong with him. They said his heart was fine. They did do a blood sugar test on him and it was low....31. I told him that Tigger has not eaten or drank any water for a couple or three days and hasn't really gone in the litter box very much. He said he might have some sort of infection so he gave me some antibiotics to give him twice a day. They also had to give him some fluids . They gave him 4 big tube things of fluid. He was severely dehydrated. They also told me he's overweight so I have to cut back on his food. His wife told me to go ahead and use the food I already have but when I come in again, to buy the light food which is lower in calories. I gave Tigger a pill this morning and boy does he hate that.He spit it out so I had to do it again but I got it down him. He did go potty so that is good and I think he drank some of his water. He hasn't eaten yet but maybe he will later on. I hope so! He looks better than he did though. I'm hoping he snaps out of this. If he doesn't get better, I have to take him back and they are going to do a full set of bloodwork on him to find out what's going on. I'm hoping he's not diabetic. He's laying out on the floor in the kitchen right now and Mitzey is out there too watchin' him. Hera really keeps an eye on him too and follows him around like a mother hen. She really keeps a close eye on him. Well I hope you're all staying cool and I hope you're having a good day. I'm gonna go check out some blogs now. Have a good one!!
WOOHOO........IT'S FINALLY RAINING!!!!

 Not Ignoring Any Of You

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Hi everyone. I hope you don't think I'm ignoring any of you. Hold on, got to get me a cup of coffee. Care to join me? Would you like some cream or sugar or just black? Awww.....that's good! Anyway, I have been really busy. I have had to run to town the last couple of days to do errands and pay bills and it's been so damn hot that when I come home, I usually just end up laying on the couch watching TV. Ever since I was sick a couple of weeks ago, it about makes me sick to be out very long. I didn't go to the doctor when I got sick, but I think I had heat exhaustion. I was sick a whole week and it bothers me to be out for very long. My cousin's husband used to work on a farm in the summer and he has had heat exhaustion 3 times. I guess he had it so bad this time, that he has decided to not work there anymore. He is a police officer in the small town where they live but when he's not working that job, he'd work on the farm but this last go round, he's decided to give it up. I got an e-mail from my cousin this morning and she told me that once you have heat exhaustion, it's easy to get it again and each time takes a little longer to bounce back. I know I felt like HELL that whole week I was sick. I hated to even take the dogs out but since our yard is not fenced in I had to. I am hoping one day we can get the yard fenced in and get a doggie door so they can go out by themselves then if I'm sick, I won't have to deal with it. Since Ray can't walk far, he can't do it and besides he can't be in the heat very long. He has had a heat stroke before and the heat really bothers him so he pretty much stays in except for going to the doctor or some other appointment. I really wish we would get some rain. The yard is starting to turn brown and it's hard on the plants and flowers. No one can afford really to water this year as this stupid town has raised the water bill. It's ridiculous. We are paying almost 40 freakin' dollars for water alone. They are talking about building a new water plant which they have been talking about for years. I think we're paying the stupid high prices to pay for building the stupid thing. It's not even begun yet and when it comes down to it, probably won't even get built. They'll make up some excuse like they do for everything thing else around here. Our City Council is a joke!! Whenever they decide to do something, they go ahead and vote on it without even asking the residents in town. I think they should have a public meeting to find out what the people in town think but they don't. But if anyone complains, there's one idiot on the council that says"The people could have made their opinions known when we had the meeting." What meeting? They never tell you if they're having a public meeting so how the Hell are we supposed to know? Are we all supposed to be mind readers now? Geeeeeeeeeeeeez!!!!
See what I mean about idiots? This one guy who I was just talking about who is on the council, works at the hospital and I told Ray next time we have to go up there, I feel like stopping by his office and telling him,"You SUCK as a councilman!" and then just walk off........MORON!!! I'm sorry to bitch so much but I tell you this town sometimes. If we had someone on the council with a little backbone to speak up against some of this stuff but we don't. It's like if you do speak up, come election time, you're voted off. God forbid, you speak your mind!! I guess to sit on the council, you have to be a little wimp and vote the way everyone else does so you don't hurt anyone's feelings or step on anyone's toes. Good god what is wrong with these idiots? I guess I should shut up and bring this to a close before I blow a gasket. This just really irritates the heck out of me!!!! Sorry. I do hope you're all having a good day and staying cool. I think my cat is sick and I'm going to have to take him to the vet. He hasn't been eating the past few days and I noticed he's not drinking any of his water and he's just kinda lifeless. I sure hope nothing is seriously wrong with him. He's our orphaned cat that we raised from a tiny kitten. He was near death when we got him and now he is a big boy. He just turned 4 yrs. this month. I sure hope he's ok. Our three animals are like our kids so we worry about them like we would a kid. I just called the vet and I take him down at 2:00 this afternoon. I better get dressed and get some things done around here. I'll try and catch up with you all today if I can. Seems there are not enough hours in the day to do everything I want or need to do. Love you guys. Stay cool!!

 Headaches

A man comes to the doctor with a long history of migrane headaches. When the doctor does his history and physical, he discovers that his poor patient has had practically every therapy known to man for his migranes and STILL no improvement. "Listen," says the doc. "I have migranes, too...and the advice I'm going to give you isn't really anything I learned in medical school, but it's advice that I've gotten from my own experience. When I have a migrane, I go home, get in a nice hot bathtub, and soak for a while. Then I have my wife sponge me off with the hottest water I can stand...especially around the forehead.
This helps a little. Then I get out of the tub, take her into the bedroom, and even if my head is killing me, I force myself to have sex...and almost always, the headache is immediately gone. Give it a try, and come back and see me in six weeks."

Six weeks later, the patient returns with a big grin. "Doc! I took your advice and it works! It REALLY WORKS! I've had migranes for 17 years and this is the FIRST time anyone has ever helped me!"

"Well," says the physician, "I'm glad I could help."

"By the way, Doc," the patient adds, "You have a really nice house."

 Joe Arpaio

(I received this in an e-mail and thought I would share with you. I wish he was the sheriff here. In fact, I wish he was the judge here. The judges here are a JOKE!!)

Joe Arpaio

HE IS THE MARICOPA ARIZONA COUNTY SHERIFF

AND HE KEEPS GETTING ELECTED OVER AND OVER

THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS WHY:

Sheriff Joe Arpaio (in Arizona) who created the "tent city jail":

He has jail meals down to 40 cents a serving and charges the inmates for them.

He stopped smoking and porno magazines in the jails. Took away their weights. Cut off all but "G" movies.

He started chain gangs so the inmates could do free work on county and city projects.

Then he started chain gangs for women so he wouldn't get sued for discrimination.

He took away cable TV until he found out there was a federal court order that required cable TV for jails so he hooked up the cable TV again with only the Disney channel and the weather channel.

When asked why the weather channel he replied, so they will know how hot it's gonna be while they are working on my chain gangs.

He cut off coffee since it has zero nutritional value and saved the county over $90,000 a year.

When the inmates complained, he told them, "This isn't the Ritz/Carlton -- If you don't like it, don't come back."

He bought Newt Gingrich's lecture series on tape that he pipes into the jails.

When asked by a reporter if he had any lecture series by a Democrat, he replied that a democratic lecture series might explain why a lot of the inmates were in his jails in the first place. (Don't know if I agree with that one but.....)

More on the Arizona Sheriff:

With temperatures being even hotter than usual in Phoenix (116 degrees just set a new record), the Associated Press reports: About 2,000 inmates living in a barbed-wire-surrounded tent encampment at the Maricopa County Jail have been given permission to strip down to their government-issued pink boxer shorts

On Wednesday, hundreds of men wearing boxers were either curled up on their bunk beds or chatted in the tents, which reached 138 degrees inside the week before.

Many were also swathed in wet, pink towels as sweat collected on their chests and dripped down to their pink socks.

"It feels like we are in a furnace," said James Zanzot, an inmate who has lived in the tents for 1 year . "It's inhumane."

Joe Arpaio, the tough-guy sheriff who created the tent city and long ago started making his prisoners wear pink, and eat bologna sandwiches, is not one bit sympathetic. He said Wednesday that he told all of the inmates: "It's 120 degrees in Iraq and our soldiers are living in tents too, and they have to wear full battle gear, but they didn't commit any crimes, so shut your damned mouths!"

Way to go, Sheriff! Maybe if all prisons were like this one there would be a lot less crime and/or repeat offenders. Criminals should be punished for their crimes - not live in luxury until it's time for their parole, only to go out and commit another crime so they can get back in to live on taxpayers' money and enjoy things taxpayers can't afford to have for themselves.

I so agree with this e-mail!!!! What are your thoughts on this?
