 The Brick

A young and successful executive was traveling down a neighborhood street, going a bit too fast in his new Jaguar. He was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slowed down when he thought he saw something. As his car passed, no children appeared. Instead, a brick smashed into the Jag's side door! He slammed on the brakes and backed the Jag back to the spot where the brick had been thrown. The angry driver then jumped out of the car, grabbed the nearest kid and pushed him up against a parked car shouting, "What was that all about and who are you? Just what the heck are you doing? That's a new car and that brick you threw is going to cost a lot of money. Why did you do it?" The young boy was apologetic. "Please, mister...please, I'm sorry but I didn't know what else to do," He pleaded. "I threw the brick because no one else would stop..." With tears dripping down his face and off his chin, the youth pointed to a spot just around a parked car. "It's my brother, "he said "He rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can't lift him up."Now sobbing, the boy asked the stunned executive, "Would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair? He's hurt and he's too heavy for me." Moved beyond words, the driver tried to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat. He hurriedly lifted the handicapped boy back into the wheelchair, then took out a linen handkerchief and dabbed at the fresh scrapes and cuts. A quick look told him everything was going to be okay. "Thank you and may God bless you," the grateful child told the stranger. Too shook up for words, the man simply watched the boy! push his wheelchair-bound brother down the sidewalk toward their home.It was a long, slow walk back to the Jaguar. The damage was very noticeable, but the driver never bothered to repair the dented side door. He kept the dent there to remind him of this message: Don't go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at you to get your attention! God whispers in our souls and speaks to our hearts. Sometimes when we don't have time to listen, He has to throw a brick at us. It's our choice to listen or not.

Thought for the Day:
If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it.

If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it.

He sends you flowers every spring.

He sends you a sunrise every morning Face it, friend - He is crazy about you!

God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.

Read this line very slowly and let it sink in...

If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.

 It's Official. . . . .We Adopted a Dog!

Well we went down this morning to the animal shelter and we looked at "Boomer" but he was just a little too hyper and pretty big. We asked to look at another dog and we found one we fell in love with. She is pure black. She weighs 61.60 lbs. but she looks awfully skinny. She is part Lab and the vet said she looks part Pointer too. She is a beautiful dog! She is very loving. I hope all of the animals can get along. Mitzey is very jealous so it may take a little while but I think with work and love,it'll happen. Her name is "Hera" which we didn't like so we changed it to "Baby" and she comes to us when we call her that name. She is out in the living room right now watching TV with Ray. I really think this is very good for Ray. I can already see the change in him. I went out and bought her a big soft plush pillow to sleep on at night at the foot of our bed. I bought her some toys to play with too. She has had pups which are still at the shelter and I fear will be killed if someone doesn't adopt them. I felt so bad for all those poor dogs. I wish I could have them all. We have to have her spayed May 8th and the vet said maybe we can try and fatten her up some as she is pretty thin. I don't know if she's been abused but she kinda shyed away from Ray at first and when he pets her, she barely wags her tail. When I pet her, her tail is just waggin' all over the place. Oh she is 21/2 years old. I hope to get pictures soon so will post them as soon as I can. She is our new addition and she's starting to feel right at home! Well just wanted to tell you our good news!! Hope the weather is not bad where you are. We are in a tornado watch till 7:00 this evening. It's been rainy all day but earlier we had a thunderstorm move through with rain and hail. It was raining so hard, you could barely see across the street.
Well better go for now.

 Good News!

We got ahold of the animal shelter here in town and we are going there in the morning to look for a Lab. Sounds as if they have quite a few really. There is one who is a male and is two and a half years old. His name is "Boomer". That's the one we're going to look at but we're going to look at others too to see which one we like the best and who likes us. We really want a pup to grow up with Mitzey and Tigger. Tigger is 3 right now and Mitzey is 2 so they would all be growing up together."Boomer" sounds like he might be the one but until we actually see him, we don't know for sure. We saw a picture of him and he is black....so cute too! We are really psyched about it! I think it will be really good for Ray too since he's in a wheelchair and is disabled, he gets depressed and when we had "Baby" for those 2 days, his attitude changed tremendously. The dog was good therapy for him. They use a lot of dogs like that to help the disabled so I think this might really be a good thing. I really hope so!! Ray is really excited too so I can't wait to see the dogs and pick the one we like the best. When we find one, we'll be adopting him.As soon as we can get pictures, I'll try and post them. I would like to get pictures of all three of our pets that is if we actually get a dog but I'm almost positive that we will because after Ray talked to the animal control officer, "Boomer" sounds like he might be the one for us. We just have to meet him and see how it goes. I'll let you know if we get him. We are so happy!!

You Are More Mild Than Wild

You're confident, and you really aren't concerned with how "hot" you are.
Other people's ideas of what's sexy don't concern you. And this is exactly what makes you attractive.

 Sad Day!

We were so happy the last couple of days cuz we thought we had a new dog, an addition to our family. Well we just lost her a few minutes ago. I was taking her out to go to the bathroom when a car pulled up and the guy came over to me and said that was his dog. They live on a farm a few miles west of us and she ran off the other night and they have been looking for her. That is their little girl's dog. I wanted to cry cuz I told him we were really getting attached to her but their little girl has been real sad since she's been gone too. Found out she is part lab and she is 8 years old. She has had pups too. I told him that if she ever has more pups to keep us in mind as we would love to have one. I'm gonna go now. I'm feelin' kinda blue right now!
